I am Pedro Coloma Valenzuela Musician & Composer

Since I was a child I had a lot of interest in music, something far from theory and techniques, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it or feeling it. At the age of 16, I went from being an observer to an experimenter. I started creating my own music, playing with synthesizers, and VST’s. I gradually discovered new sounds and instruments with various colors. I began to dedicate more and more time to it, and with the help of some teachers I began to study and learn, from the basics; reading, listening, playing, and analyzing music. Suddenly what was once a hobby became something much more serious, and without realizing it, I was already committed - I was in a serious relationship with music.

I was still in school when I started looking for where to study, and Europe was a tempting option. Its excellent art scene, rich culture and top artists from all over the world, made the decision easier. Thus began this adventure full of challenges; the first thing to think about was leaving my comfort zone and my family. Although I had their support from the first day, they knew that it was the best for me, and they understood that it was the only way to take it to another level. From Chile I went to Germany to study Film Scoring at Musicube Academy, in the midst of the pandemic. I graduated and today I am a student of Music Composition for Film and Theater at ArtEZ University of the Arts, The Netherlands.

Music is my element. When I listen to it something in me gets activated. It awakens my senses. I can listen, think, feel and imagine at the same time. On the other hand, when I think about creating something that doesn’t exist yet, and that I will have to explore different paths to get to something that resonates with me, the feeling becomes demanding, which is also something pleasant because it forces me to be in a constant search for information and inspiration.
